Sari 2

Sari 2

So, I have this wonderful friend who insists that I need to take a few of my journal entries and put them to canvas. She really loved the Sari piece and wanted me to do something similar but with a darker skin tone for her apartment. I was flattered but warned her that truly I am no artist and that might prove to be a challenge.

Last night I tried my hand at a dark skin tone and behold... I failed, miserably. If anyone wants to give me some pointers, go at it.

For flesh tones-try mixing any of these colors in different amounts to get the color you are looking for:
burnt sienna, titanium white, quinacridone magenta, yellow,
black

I start w/ the ligthest colors: white, yellow, magenta, burnt sienna
with black you want a teeny tiny amount...

If it's too dark, add lighter colors. If it's too light, add a wee bit o' dark colors...hope this helps.

I have several pages of where I just play with mixing paints to get the color(s) I want. :)

Your artwork is gorgeous!!!

Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it. I'll be sure to try that out in my journal very soon. :) (I should get a journal on the side to practice things on, it would be a journal of progress!)

Thank you for your compliment. I don't think I am all that great by any means but I do enjoy it nonetheless without any apologies! ;)

This post is from forever ago, but, we both know that I'm never on time for anything. But, neither are you, I gather....still waiting on my masterpiece... love you!
